Two DMARC records at _dmarc — why your policy is being ignored

When a receiver finds more than one TXT record starting with v=DMARC1 at _dmarc.yourdomain.com, RFC 7489 tells it to discard all of them and behave as if no DMARC policy exists.

Both of your records are therefore doing nothing, including whichever one is correct.

How to fix it

  1. 1List every TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain.com.
  2. 2Decide which policy you actually want, including which rua= addresses should receive reports.
  3. 3Merge the rua= destinations into one record, comma-separated.
  4. 4Delete every other DMARC record at that name.
