BIMI not configured — getting your logo into the inbox
BIMI displays your brand logo next to your messages in Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail and others. It is the most visible payoff of doing email authentication properly.
It has a hard prerequisite: DMARC must be at p=quarantine or p=reject with pct=100. There is no way to shortcut it, which is why BIMI is a useful carrot when persuading a client to move off p=none.
How to fix it
- 1Reach DMARC p=quarantine or p=reject at pct=100 first.
- 2Prepare your logo as an SVG Tiny P/S file and host it over HTTPS.
- 3For Gmail and Apple Mail you also need a Verified Mark Certificate from a recognised authority, which is a paid, annual credential.
- 4Publish a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com with: v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomain.com/logo.svg; a=https://yourdomain.com/vmc.pem
